PET PET

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a thermoplastic, the most common member of the polyester class, known by various brand names. The product of polycondensation of ethylene glycol with terephthalic acid (or its dimethyl ether). The solid, colorless, transparent substance in an amorphous state; and white, opaque in the crystalline state. Passes into a glassy state when heated to the glass transition temperature and remains in it during abrupt cooling and rapid passage through the "crystallization zone". One of the critical parameters of PET is the intrinsic viscosity, which is determined by the length of the polymer molecule. With an increasing inherent thickness, the crystallization rate decreases. Durable, wear-resistant, excellent dielectric.
